It’s so so so important to keep your distance from wildlife on trail. That’s why I carry this 4lb camera…to get all the close up shots I’d like while keeping myself and the wildlife safe. Sometimes though, I can only use so much of the memory card for videos and @adventurouskarma gets some iPhone video while I take still shots 🤷🏼‍♀️

Summer Appreciation Post ⬇️

Once fall comes and we slow down from the long summer days into cozy blankets, I pause to appreciate summer memories.

We didn’t thru-hike this summer. We opted for a shorter spring thru-hike instead. 🌸

We craved the pace of looking for adventure and wildlife and friends from the comforts of our van. 🚐

1 - Short backpacking overnight trip…you know I love a good uneven bridge!

2 - @thechristybel invited us to the best summer overnight backpacking!

3 - Karma’ . @adventurouskarma

4 - Hot springs reward high in the Colorado mountains. @thechristybel

5 - Went paddle boarding with a bunch of new nomadic friends! 📸 by @beardedvanlife

6 - Our first Holy Toledo van event by @thejournaloflosttime

7 - Editing photos of wildlife and wildlife comes to the van! 🫎

8 - Trail family old and new! Nothing beats pop-up trail magic! @andy_hikes

9 - Barefoot driving through Badlands National Park looking for bison…we did find them! 🦬

10 - Driving through the last of summer into fall. Finding new spots to eat lunch on back roads.

Our van home got filthy while working the Sugar Be

Our van home got filthy while working the Sugar Beet Harvest! 🚐

The harvest was a weirdly awesome 2-3 week job where we learned so much (and made decent money 💵 ).

But, work 12.5 hour shifts every day for almost 3 weeks got exhausting and we put off cleaning. 🧼

So, 🍻 to finishing the beet harvest and driving to warmer weather asap 😂
